Every day we choose how we will show up in the world and what kind of day we will have simply by our mindset. When we wake up in the morning and embrace the day as to what it may bring, then your day will surely be an adventure. If you awaken and feel the same resentfulness from the previous day, week, or month then you will feel like you are moving on autopilot and that will affect how you experience your day.
How we decide to wake up and what we choose to do first thing in the morning will determine the tone of the day. If you snooze your alarm multiple times, that just means that you are not wanting to face your day and that you are not content. When an alarm is set, you should be able to wake up and face your day with anticipation of a brand-new start. It is an opportunity to brighten your perspective and choose to have the right mindset that you will accomplish something that makes you smile.
To work for the daily grind and not take care of ourselves or do things that make us happier means we are simply existing in this world and not enjoying. The only thing that we have is time. To give yourself some of that time within your day to only do something for you and something that you enjoy is priceless. In a twenty-four-hour day, how much time do you spend on doing something just for yourself and not giving to others? Time is the only thing that is not endless, it is finite and to not take care of yourself is to do your soul an injustice.
Mind body and soul are all interconnected. If you neglect one, then the rest will be out of balance and your day will not be smooth sailing. A valiant attempt to treat yourself as special first thing in the morning is a great way to start the day off well. Try to wake up a little bit earlier and not feel so rushed and you will see that your day will also be less chaotic. With those additional minutes that you have given yourself, you can choose to exercise, meditate, or even try to set mini accomplishments that you want to achieve throughout your day. The reason I say mini is because as we all know our days have a tendency of getting away from us and no matter how well we plan, we cannot control the outcome. Stop fighting your day and start with small steps and you will see that you will be less irritated when things don’t go as planned.
