Dare to Stand Out

A daily challenge for yourself should be to take a moment and attempt to stand out some way during your day. That could be to take the challenge of smiling throughout your whole day and see what good things can happen as a result. Try to wear a bright color that resonates with you and raises your spirit and watch how people will smile at you.

Take every day as a challenge to see how people will react to you and what you are putting out there. If you project positivity, then that is what you will get back. Try it for one day and be receptive to what you receive.

For some reason we tend to restrain ourselves and dim down our true personalities in order to align with what we think society expects from us. This in essence kills your soul and your creative side of you that makes you unique. We are all different and we should learn to embrace it rather than suppress it. It is a difficult task as our educational system has programmed us to be, think, behave and conform to a systemic version of what society dictates.

As we grow up, we become more lost and confused as to why we are not happy with our lives. We have suppressed what makes us happy in order to achieve some sense of stability in society’s expectations of us. If you look around at others and try to look at people who seem to truly be happy, ask them what is their secret and they will most likely tell you that they have found a passion of doing something that resonates with their soul.  This creative outlet is what allows them to achieve that happiness. It is up to you to figure out what draws a passionate response from you that allows you to wake up every day inspired.

If you dare to stand out and be different that will give you the inspiration to find what drives you. It is possible for you to smile and be happy even if you are not drawing a six-figure income. Measure of wealth and possessions do not determine happiness. Self-fulfilling moments that speak to your internal self or inner child will bring about the happiness you crave in your life. No other person, money or object will fill that void.

Choose to start out your day doing something totally not your usual self, it could be wearing a bright color, painting your nails a different color, saying good morning to all strangers, donating money to a homeless person and watch and see how just a small change can actually bring a smile to your face. Continue with doing something out of your comfort zone and grow into a more authentic person and you will notice that you become happier in your daily life.
