Embrace Your Differences

As we go through our lives, we often chase the same things that other people are trying to attain. With all of us working towards the same goals as everyone else you are never satisfied with what is going on in your life because you are not working towards what is your true calling.

We all like to dress the same, walk talk and be like everyone else. To walk to the beat of your own drum for most people is quite daunting. However, your best experiences are when you choose to be your authentic self. Trying to form your own identity away from the norm is the best way to travel through life.

Who in this lifetime determines who and what you can do? If being true to yourself is not morally wrong or hurting others, then you should learn to embrace your uniqueness that differs from others. When you can embrace the differences then you will enjoy your life a lot more and have more fulfillment throughout your day. Instead of focusing on what others do, do what you want and it will put a smile on your face.

What would be the worst thing that could happen if you chose to wear what you wanted to wear just because you felt like it. You don’t need to have a reason or an event to attend to.  Its just you feel good and want to express it in embracing your difference. How refreshing would that feel? You should try it out and see what that can do for you. One small step at a time and then keep the momentum if it suits your spirit.

We often keep ourselves small within this lifetime because we are afraid to stand out and show ourselves off because that will garner attention that you may not be used to. Daring to be different and enjoying it is quite fun. It allows for others to compliment you because they honour or respect your authenticity and want some of that energy for themselves. Sometimes people live vicariously through others’ experiences. Be that beacon of change. Embrace your difference because at the end of the day, we are all different however we have just chosen to hide it deep within ourselves afraid to be judged by others. What if you changed the narrative to be that others would envy your authenticity and wish that they themselves could have the courage to do that? Wouldn’t that set a better example than following the traditional?

Love yourself for who and what you are no matter how different others may perceive you.
