Taking care of yourself is of the greatest importance. Within today’s society there is such an emphasis that it requires a lot of money in order to create this. Modern society creates the illusion that everything has a cost and that great things cannot be free. Self-care can be free and rewarding without costing money for the simplest pleasure. Don’t get me wrong, there definitely can be a cost with certain self-care options.
I choose to walk out in nature on a daily basis. I get caught up in looking at nature and the beauty that it inspires. Watching the changes of seasons is mesmerizing. The forest reflects what the world is like if you look at it through lenses of curiosity. Every aspect of nature in its glory has a purpose. The broken limbs from trees or dead trees provide shade to the new saplings trying to grow. The greatest mystery is what happens in nature during the winter when you see a barren landscape yet there is so much going on underneath the snow. When spring arrives, you actually get to see the growth that was happening that was hidden.
Self-care is the essence of taking care of what is going on inside you. Not always does it entail placing tons of money on the exterior presentation. No matter how much you spend on your outside of body, you must take care of what is on the inside. If you can balance your inner self, the more you can give to yourself and others. The harsh reality is that we all age and our looks eventually fade, but your personality is what will define how much you can enjoy your life.
Providing yourself with the time to just be free with your thoughts is one way of giving to self-care. The oneness of your inner thoughts and how you want to move forward in life and visiting the things that are holding you back are all within you. In order to process or receive answers to better enrich your life, you have to be willing to go inward. Not everything that happens to you is because of others. We all play a part in what we allow into our lives. Those choices affect us in one way or another. If it was not a good choice, then reflect on how you can do better the next time. That is true self-care.
Giving into what is going on inside will heal you and allow you to make better choices. The difference between being happy or depressed is what you are willing to face about yourself. Deal with the hardship and you will be taking care of yourself which is great self-care.
