Resilience, self-belief and positivity are the steppingstones in achieving a level of serenity. Daily gratitude of all that you have endured, accomplished and where you are currently also creates peace within your soul.
This life is so fast paced, and we get caught up in the glitz and glam of it all. People are so caught up in what other people are doing, where they are going or have gone. They are curious to know what others are doing, what they are wearing and or who they are with. Social media has made us more envious of others and what they seem to have has increased with the increase in the different types of social media forums. People look at others and then judge themselves as lacking because they don’t look the same or have the same toys or gadgets. These only warps peoples’ self-esteem which is already fragile today.
People must relearn how to love themselves. To remember the truly important things in life which is connections that they have with themselves and that enhances their partnerships with others. Once you can accept yourself as you are (imperfections and all) the more you can offer someone else. Someone will not give you the self-esteem or unconditional love that you deeply desire if you cannot give to yourself.
If you place value on things or labels, there is also the possibility that it can quickly disappear or be taken from you. Things are things and do not hold any true authentic value, its just good marketing made to convince people to buy material things rather than spend time with people which is much more valuable.
So where do you think your focus should be? Heal, fix and love yourself first then everything else will fall into place. Do things on a daily basis that you enjoy doing. Keep it simple without much cost so that it can be more enjoyable. Such things as meditation early in the morning or even before you go to sleep. That would help calm the mind and de-stress so sleep can come more easily.
Another serene idea is to take a walk in nature or a park. This is a double indulgence; it is good for you physically and mentally. There is serenity in the experience of taking in the views of trees and the beauty of nature. It is also a beautiful experience during sunset or sunrises which is a good time for movement which is always good for your health and well being.
